I’m such a cinema-geek that when movies premiere it is just as big an event as any fashion event. In many ways it is its own fashion event; The red carpet is the runway, A-listers are the models, and there are so many designers on display. So with that being said…
The final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy premiered this week in New York City. So many stars got together for this final blow out that the red carpet was overflowing with designer dresses and suits. From the Dark Knight himself,Christian Bale, to breakthrough actor, Tom Hardy. They all were show stopping. Here is my commentary on this spectacular event.
Anne Hatheway was one of my favorite. She sported Prabal Gurung’s long white dress with a very low key peplum. Paying some homage to her sexy role in the movie, the beautiful actress showed some skin with a deep v held together by strands of what seems to be diamonds. Her hair, in her latest pixie cut, framed her face which had very minimal make up. I really love the berry shade of her lipstick. Over all i think that the dress was really becoming of her especially with the haircut, because some dresses need to be admired more than the hair do.
Hailee Steinfeld, the fifteen year-old rocked a colorfast Marc Jacobs dress from the 2013 Resort Collection along with Marc Jacob shoes. The dress was mid-calf length and sleveless with vibrant cotton candy colors. She completed the look with her 1970-esque platforms, black clutch, simple berry lips and minimally lined-eyes. Head to toe, Marc Jacobs. Perfection. I love the coton candy colors so much and I feel so proud of a well dressed teenager that represents the demographic.
Marion Cotillard, la femme qui pouvait porter des vetements tres bien. (grammer?) She can wear anything she wants, and everything she wears is gorgeous. I am a total francophone and Marion is one of my favorite french actresses. I would argue that this is an extremely mix-media outfit. Her eye makeup glittered a beautiful “evening sun” color that had nothing to envy a golden sunset. The short, white, Christian Dior dress was probably the most collectively mixed. There was so many textures of fabric, styled differently that made it a huge variation, but the consistency of the creme color gave the dress an appropriate similarity. With out a doubt my favorite part of her outfit, her Christain Louboutin sandals. The sandals made her legs look amazing and added another medium to her ensemble.
I lied, this is the man: Christopher Nolan. So many great films, The Dark Knight Trilogy are just a few of a long list of award-winning cinema projects. Mr. Nolan i must say, you are looking just as sharp as Mr. Bale. You both get awards, that’s it.
That’s it from it. That’s all I got. Before I go, one final speculation. The white dress, hair-up, and rose/berry lip is definitely in style according to the statistics of this red carpet.
