on a rainy day, sometimes (usually) the best thing to do is a DIY. Earlier today I found this fashion week inspired nail art tutorial that I thought was amazing. I had already seen the spring 2013 collection, but it never crossed my mind to replicate the designs on my nails…
here is the tutorial I used to replicate the Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2013 look.
and here is what my nails look like:
not bad for my first time.
dreams really do come true!
click through for my schedule, heheheh.
This is a cute little video a rookie, Olivia Bee, made with her boyfriend for Hermes!
here are all the things i love about this short film:
- It was made by a fabulous rookie
- It is for Hermes, creators of the most elegant fashion goods
- i love french/france/etc!
- who doesn’t like colored rabbit and a spot of tea?
- cute couples in company of the other listed things are never detestable.
- classic cars and doll house surburbia (WHERE DOES IT EXIST?!)
- plus, check out her bedazzled shoes. i smell an impending DIY…
enjoy the film guys!
As in the past, Target has once again produced a new and promising high-end designer collaboration. This time with Kirna Zabete. Some label names that have worked with target in the past include, Rodarte and Missoni. I am really looking forward to acquiring some new pieces for the fall. Last year I bought the coolest Missoni vest!
September 9th, Target will put their latest Kirna Zabete X Target collection out for sale. The collection includes heeled suede boots and many patterned tops and dresses. Prices range from $9.99 to $199.99. (doesn’t get more affordable than that…)

for those of you that haven’t seen 3.1 Phillip Lim’s fall collection, it looks like it came straight from the pages of a Marvel comic book. With that being said, he collaborated with some people to make his own comic book. The comic is called, “Kill the Night”. He describes it as,
A COMIC INSPIRED BY 3.1 PHILLIP LIM’S FALL 2012
COLLECTION AND THE NEO-NOIR HEROINES WHO EMBODY IT.
CO-WRITTEN BY PHILLIP LIM, THIS IS A STORY OF DUALITY.
DAY AND NIGHT, BLACK AND WHITE, LOVE AND BETRAYAL.
THINGS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM. LOOK AGAIN.
I think it came out spectacular. I love strong female characters, and comic books (specifically the x-men & thor comics). When you put those two together it’s a glorious marriage. The “neo-noir” is very consistent with the fall collection & I can easily see where he drew inspiration from his clothing. It finishes everything nicely, and I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy.

All over the world, people are preparing for Fashion’s Night Out 2012 . September 6th designer brands and celebrities will convene in big venues for a glorious fashion event. Some people will shop, others will go for photo-opts, and there will those who will go out for the drinks and experience. You can find a FNO anywhere from New York to London to Australia to Japan. (Basically, thank you Vogue & CFDA)
I wish I could say I was jet-setting my way to New York City and partying it up in one of my favorite cities on a Thursday night… but I am not. I have school and other compromising responsibilities, (SIGH). Though we make do with what we can, right?! So here’s a post for all you Miami-dwellers. I hope you can make it out to the nearest mall/venue and enjoy a night of lovely food and fashion small talk!
Fashion’s Night Out: Miami Design District
